September 2005 Sub-Frame Restro Pics
After the above pics were taken the 1st week of Sep 2005, in late Sep 2005, I blew a head gasket because my thermostat went out on my flex-a-lite electric fan setup. (long story short) I shut the motor off in time (210 degrees) but decided I didn't want to be late for work & in picking up a car pooler for work so I fired up the motor & decided to chance it 8 blocks back to my house & ended up blowing a head gasket. Since winter was 4 weeks away, I ended up pulling the motor. I am glad that I did decide to pull the motor because my gear drive ended up chewing into the face of the block, which caused the block material to run through the bearings. I only had 350 miles on the motor. I ended up honing the block, buying new bearings & having to wait until Aug 4th, 2006 to put my motor together (again long story). Aug 10th, 2006 was the first day I fired up the motor then drove it to work the next day
